Getting there
Fly into Mohammed V International Airport, the main gateway to Morocco, or arrive by train from Rabat, Tangier, Fez or Marrakech. Here is how to reach the city and get around once you are there.
Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) lies about 30 km south of the city. It is Morocco’s busiest airport and the hub of Royal Air Maroc, with flights from Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America. Trains run from the station beneath the terminal to the city.
| From | How | Time |
|---|---|---|
| The airport | Train to Casa Voyageurs or Casa Port | About 30–45 minutes |
| The airport | Taxi or pre-booked transfer | About 40–60 minutes, depending on traffic |
| Rabat | Train | About 1 hour |
| Tangier | Al Boraq high-speed train | A little over 2 hours |
| Marrakech | Train | About 2¾–3 hours |
| Fez | Train | About 3–3½ hours |
Morocco’s national railway, ONCF, is comfortable and good value. Casablanca has two main stations: Casa Voyageurs, for most long-distance trains including the Al Boraq, and Casa Port, in the city centre near the Old Medina, for many trains to Rabat and Kenitra. Tickets can be bought at stations or online, and it is a good idea to book early for the Al Boraq.
Motorways link Casablanca with Rabat, Marrakech and El Jadida. Driving in the city is hectic and parking can be hard, so hire a car only for trips out of town. Long-distance buses are run by CTM and other companies.
